About

Built for the player who's teaching themselves.

Tonecrafted is built by Jeff Rodriguez, a self-taught guitarist and automation builder in San Diego. I built it by myself, in whatever hours I could find. When I started playing, guitar felt completely out of reach — like the players I loved had access to something I didn't. Turns out they didn't start anywhere special either. They built a foundation and kept going until it became their own sound. But most of what I found online didn't help with that part: sites bloated with ads, subscriptions you have to buy before you know if the tool even helps, or lessons written for people who already speak theory.

So I made the thing I wished had existed — tools that show you what's actually happening in the music, let you play a version you can play today, and don't charge you rent to understand your own instrument. Not because I've got it all figured out, but because getting unstuck shouldn't cost $40 a month.

There's no ad network here, no dark patterns, no artificial paywalls on the core experience. Every tool works fully for free today. When something is genuinely not built yet, it says so — the waitlist chips you'll see around the site mark features that are actually coming, not features that exist behind a paywall.

Honest

If it's not built, it says so. No fake "AI-powered" claims on features that don't exist.

Connected

Six tools that talk to each other, not six disconnected bookmarks.

Free first

The core of every tool works today, free, with no account required.

Not sure where to begin? The free 4-week practice plan walks you through them in order — no email required.
